Sungmin Kim '24 WINNER
The research process we followed
throughout the HIS Youth program
has helped immensely by developing
fundamental skills needed to start
and finish a scientific research to
become a scientist. Visiting Axiom
Space and seeing the space station
modules inspired me to further the
research once we have the
opportunity to experiment on the
space station.
Haeryung Na '24 WINNER
Initially, my dream was to become a
lawyer, but through this program, I
came to realize that my dream has
been narrowed down to becoming a
lawyer in the space industry. I would
like to thank Boryung for providing
students the chance to expand our
dreams and passion about space.
The advice that the CEO of Intuitive
Machines gave us, to “dream big”,
sticks with me to this day.

Participating in the competition with peers from diverse fields deepened
my curiosity and passion for space.
Through the U.S. visit, I experienced how the space industry operates,
what I had seen in the news. Visiting Axiom Space and Intuitive Machines
in particular gave me insight into how space-bound equipment is developed, and inspired me to reflect on the research I hope to pursue.
Jaehwan Ryu '25 WINNER
The HIS Youth program offered a valuable opportunity to connect my field with space and explore new possibilities. Through the NASA education program and time with astronaut Soyeon Yi, I gained a new perspective on space and how astronauts think.
This experience inspired me to develop space-related programs for students and set a goal of helping more students engage with space.
